Random ramblings from the shop.
Nov. 3rd, 2009 05:27 pmFeeling better today, still not quite right, but all the faintness and dizzyness is gone. I was getting rather worried yesterday as it seemed everytime I got up to do sommething I had to grab onto something to stop from falling over, or sit down for a few minutes and recover. Not good.
Was bored in shop so had a read through DJ magazine, first time I've read a dance music magazine...possibly this year. Had the Top 100 DJs list this month and as usual it's depressing, but not surprising to find only one woman in the 100 and it's the usual suspect Lisa Lashes. *sigh* Even outside that, I@d probably struggle to think of half-a-dozen other women DJs. Let's see...Ellen Allien, Sister Bliss...er...shit.
Need to renew my XBox Live sub before Dec 1st, although considering how much I actually play online with it, it's really not worth the money. Tempted just to let it lapse.
Grr. Dear customer, you can take your three weeks of saved up, cut-out-of-the-paper vouchers and shove them up your arse. I shouldn't even accept them because they're only valid on the day printed on them, but mum's an idiot sometimes and lets you and another customer get away with it.
Been mostly playing Borderlands and Torchlight, depending on if Simon's using the 360. Up to level 20 both character wise and dungeon wise in TL. Wielding two pistols that do 254 dps each with a whole shedload of bonuses. I just upgraded my shoulder armour from one with 12 armour to 40 armour (and another shedload of bonuses) and my pet wolf summons zombies and heals us. Definitely game of the year so far there's only MOdern Warfare 2 and Lego Rock Band that could beat it. In Borderlands I've got a 100 damage Revolver that grows bullets to replace what I use, so as long as I don't go mental, I never run out of bullets for it. I've also got a shotgun that fires rockets. Took out both Skagzilla and Mothraak in my last session, someone at Gearbox is obviously a kaiju fan.
The mobile library just dorve past, I used to use that all the time before we moved to this end of town in 1980. Got a lot of Target novelisations from there.
Rewatched Horror Cafe last night, still brilliant stuff, can't believe it was nineteen years ago I first saw it. From the same place I got it, I now also have the complete series of Rich Hall's Cattle Drive, which I've been after for ages. Wins all round.
Venture Bros was wrong and wonderful as usual.
It would also be very nice if people delivering stuff would bother contacting us to tell us they will be coming today, which they are supposed to do, as I've now had three stock deliveries to the shop, none of which were expected and I have nothing above five pound notes left in the till. f**king idiots.
Finally a big and hearty f**k you to the idiot on a bike who almost hit me on the way home. Get off the f**king pavement and get some lights you nonce.
