Dec. 10th, 2009 05:32 pmBeen really quiet in the shop today, luckily the new DWM and Retro Gamer came in, so been reading them. DWM is great this month, big interviews with Tennant, Simm and Cribbins (the full page Simm pic will make people's heads explode), great poster which if I had any space on the walls I'd be arguing with myself for days over which side to put up (one side's the cover, the other's the Doctor/Sarah-Jane cover from an issue or two back) and of course the obligatory Christmas Quiz.
Lot of good stuff in Retro Gamer too, looks at After Burner and Space Channel 5, big Crash magazine article, excellent Peter Molyneux interview and a C64 muician interview thing which runs for eight pages. Between the SID interview and last month's big Ben Dagliesh interview it's great to see some good features on the musicians who soundtracked a lot of my childhood.
Also wierd how certain memories come back, reading the Molyneux interview and suddenly remembered how I absolutely caned Populous II during an almost all-nighter when Mum was in hospital overnight after a fall (nothing bad, they were just being careful) and ended up playing it non-stop for around eight hours.
Watched The Prestige last night, after having one of the macguffins accidentally spoiled for me, but there was still enough twists and turns in it to make it a thouroughly intriguing and entertaining movie.
