Nov. 3rd, 2010 05:19 pmInternet was down again at lunchtime, joy. Been happening a lot in the area happened in Arbroath at the weekend, day after it happened here. Dunno if it's maintenance, cock ups or RIAA/MPAA commando raids. If oyu are reading this, it is back up. :)
Foot is fine now, ankle was sore the first couple of days, having not had to do much for last five months, but eased off pretty quickly. Means I can start taking walks again, I've done okay, I gained a little weight while not active, but nothing obvious.
It is absolutely bloody freezing in the shop, luckily nobody has caught me hugging the heater in an inappropriate manner yet.
Kerrang special is a great read, it's all about Nu-Metal, which i got heavily into at the time. Covers a the main bases, Korn, LInkin Park, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Disturbed and others. Brief mention of Kittie in the best songs section. Complete nostalgia-fest for me, makes me wish more of this stuff was in Rock Band*. Would make a playlist for the shop, but a considerable amount is NSFW.Doesn't seem like ten years ago I was e-mailing Mary-Anne Hobbes about Woolworth's anti-metal agenda (claiming their method for choosing their music chart involved a felt pen, a Twister board and getting an armadillo drunk and spinning it)** and listening to really loud sweary songs while being stuck on a bloody stupid training course to help me find a job, which didn't hep me or find me a job.
Going toi go through keys on RB3 on easy in the hope I can unlock the ability to play key parts on guitar just doing that.
The new Scooby Doo series continues to be excellent, what other kid's cartoon can say they've had Harlan Ellison guest starring as himself? None, I tell you, none.
* - Currently, one Linkin Park song, one Korn song, four Slipknot and I think eight Disturbed songs. Also, not sure I'd want censored versions of the Limp Bizkit stuff, wouldn't be the same. :)
** - which was read out on air. This was before I had an internet comatible computer, I was using a Dreamcast at the time.
