Due to shop being relatively quiet due to snowy apocalypse, been reading a lot of comics, been re-reading John Byrne's run on Fantastic Four which I read about half of at the time after the original Lee/Kirby run, it's Byrne's I usually think of when anyone mentions reading FF. John Byrne's art is specifically why I still have a major crush on She-Hulk.
Other thing was re-reading my two collections of Evan Dorkin's Dork! a series which collected all the odds and sods he'd done that weren't Milk & Cheese or Pirate Corp$. There's a wide range of stuff in there, from pages full of four panel gag strips, to retelling of urban legends, to a sitcom about a family of murderers, to a dark and funny run through the author[s anxieties and nervous breakdown. The gag strips Curse Of The Mummy and Pavlov's Dog crack me up every time. ALso chock full of pop culture stuff, taking the piss out of Generation X and a whole slew of other stuff in Evan's distinctive art style which I love to bits. Really helped me stay calm, well relatively calm, during all the stressful moments in the shop this week.
Have Halo Jones and DR & Quinch to reread in the shop next week.
