I just want to give thanks to Eureka, specifically for their Masters Of Cinema releases, which I only own two of but those are enough to make me want to check what else they've released in the series.

Silent Running was the first blu-ray I watched when Stephen loaned ,e a player and some discs, I immediately added it to the list of discs to buy when I traded in some stuff. I even payed the extra quid for the steelbook edition. Then I found out they'd also released one of my other favourite films Repo Man and ordered the steelbook edition of that too.

The discs themselves are excellent, full of extras, many from previous releases of the films, but some brand new, such as the lovely ten minute intro to Repo Man by director Alex Cox. It's obvious a lot of love has gone into these and it extends to the packaging.

The steelbooks are lovely, Repo Man has a stark, simple cover and Silent Running blows the old DVD release away by using the original movie poster. The booklets with both are wonderful, both forty pages or more, Silent Running's has production designs and artwork, a pile of behind-the-scenes photos and and overview of the making of the movie.

Repo Man comes with an absolutely wonderful booklet which not only contains the original pitch document for the movie (I never knew they'd hoped to get Elvira/Cassandra Petersen involved) but has a lovely hand written and drawn look at the origins of the movie by Alex Cox himself who not only reveals Repo Man started as a comic strip, but prints the whole original strip. It's easily the best booklet I've seen come with a movie.
