Movie night!
Aug. 4th, 2013 12:46 amThere was a 30 day free trial offer for NowTV on my XBox, so I thought I'd give it a go. So tonight's viewing was...
Haywire (2011) - nice little action thriller from Steven Soderberg. Has a cast full of people I like (Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender, Antonio Banderas, Bill Paxton) and was rather impressed by Gina Carano as the lead. Nothing big or fancy, but a nicely told tale of a sold out spy.
The Monster Squad (1987) - altogether now "WOLFMAN'S GOT NARDS!!!" Another one of those fun eighties kid's adventure movies, but one I hadn't seen since the VHS release. Surprised to see it was co-written by Shane Black. It's a shame Robocop 3 seemd to have killed co-writer/director Fred Dekker's career.
Fright Night (2011) - since we were in the fun horror genre already, I went with this. Again, just a fun ride, with David Tennant being hugely entertaining. It always amuses me when he's sweary and he's rather sweary in this. I like Colin Farrel as well and he certainly seemed to be enjoying himself.
