And to top things off, the council are now demanding I pay my council tax in full because I've missed a second payment. The day i was making a payment and indeed getting a few weeks in advance was the day i found out my benefits had been stopped. Barely managing to keep things together now, one more thing and I think I'm going to crack.

I'm meant to be going to things to help me but I'm spending most of those days stuck at home waiting for someone from the DWP to phone me back.

Cannot tell you how relieved I am now, funny how everyone outside the DWP is helpful, informative and most of all quick. Housing benefit is sorted with no backlog, council tax payments have been rearranged with virtually no impact on my monthly expenditure. The DWP on the other hand, never phoned me back despite me waiting in the flat for five hours. Still, I can finally relax as on top of the above I now know I won't have a rent/council tax backlog to pay off as long as my JSA restarts as it should.
