Monster Hunter 10th Anniversary.
Jun. 20th, 2014 02:28 pmIt's Monster Hunter's tenth anniversary this year, not bad for a series not that big outside Japan. I've posted about my intense love for the series in the past and I'm back into playing a couple of versions at the moment because the quieter moments are perfect for catching up with podcasts and generally chilling out. Yes, I spent thirty minutes fishing at one point,k what of it?
Capcom released a great video compilation of all the opening movies and promos for the series, but I have a new favourite video from the games and that's the celebration when you finish off the final boss monster in Portable 3rd.
Lots of things that I love about the series in that video, but most important of all, it confirms that all the Monster Hunter games take place in the same world as characters from at least Tri and Freedom Unite/Portable 2G are attending the party.
(Trenya, the cat with the goggles at the end, has even crossed over and appeared in Metal Gear Solid:Peacewalker)
There's some tenth anniversary t-shirts which I plan on buying a couple of and all going well, I may be able to play the "current" edition of the game, 3 Ultimate soon. *crosses fingers*
