Exhausting week.
Aug. 5th, 2014 03:44 pmHad first proper panic attack in nine months in Oxfam on Saturday. Managed to deal with it far better than in the past, didn't upset or scare anyone and managed not to turn into a screaming/crying heap. Was a combination of cash register error, massive pile of donations and more than useless volunteer all at once.
Jobcenter fun has continued with what are obviously directives from higher up. I now need to provide prinouts of all the e-mails I get or send to people (which is fine) and they seem to be pushing at everyone to allow them (and the DWP) access to our universal jobmatch accounts. I saw the person before me getting asked to do it and so was I, I allowed it, until I got home five minutes later. Just to be very clear on this - they cannot force you to allow them access to your account, it's purely voluntary and they cannot issue a jobseeker's direction to force you to allow them access. We'll see how that goes in a fortnight when they'll inevitably ask for access again. I'll just be polite and quote them the official regulations.
Had a phone interview today for a job in Dundee, got full interview on Thursday. It's for a call center job, but one where customers phone us, not us randomly phoning people. None of the shifts listed on their current vacancy suits me (either not enough hours to cover my travel costs, or too late at night to get back home, but there may be flexibility there. Managed to sort my train getting paid for and my suit and birth certificate already so nothing more to worry about until the day itself.
