2015 State Of The Gord
Jan. 2nd, 2015 05:43 pmSo yeah, it's been three weeks since I last posted, I'm okay, a couple of health things bothering me b ut nothing too bad, just haven't been online much at all due to work and trying to get things sorted out on the days off I have.
I'm coping with work fine emotionally, it's just the physical demands (as low as they are) that are the problem.
My main worry right now is health stuff, more worrying that my employers will decide I'm not worth keeping on due to the number of days off I've had to take than the actual health itself. I had four last month, same as November and I really am trying my best and each day I do take off is after painful deliberation and worry. I had to get one day off right at the last minute becasue my doctor decided I needed to go get a chest x-ray concerning the constand pain in the side of my torso, that I've had for a couple months now.
I did get money for the annual leave I'd accrued but not been able to take, which was nice but has already gone on clothes, a new PC (the eleven year old desktop is dying on it's arse) and new glasses later in the month. There was also a cock up regarding my rent (when I'd payed last month the person had said my account was two weeks in credit, so I only paid two weeks, turns out it was two weeks in arrears so I had to pay an extra fortnight this month) amd the electric bills have doubled due to the cold weather.
Christmas was a nice quiet few days with the folks, I got a couple of hats for the winter weather, some gloves, a bunch of books (Guinness Book Of records, Doctor Who Character Encyclopedia, Hyperbole & A Half, DC Comics Year By Year and the WWE Encyclopedia) and some other wee bits and pieces.
The hat's the best, it's reversible, so one side's red and yellow for Iron Man and the other's black and white for War Machine.
Other than that though, I wish I had more time for interaction with friends both in real life and online. Because two of the three of us are working now, podcasting has been tricky to organise. My days off are mostly spent doing things that need to be done and falling asleep watching stuff.
My hope for the new year? Better health. I'm even considering asking to go to part time hours, maybe 30 a week just to give me more chance to cope. It'd be a drop in wages, but I'd still be able to survive and have a wee bit spare each month. I'll wait and see how the rest of January goes.
