Bits'n'pieces.
Oct. 11th, 2013 04:34 pmOK, get the obvious bit out of the way first, I@m absolutely deleriously happy about the return of nine missing episodes from Patrick Troughton's era. The fact that some of them mean we've now got an almost complete Web Of Fear is just the icing on the cake. I'll be buying the DVDs as soon as they're available, but watched the trailers and they both look fantastic.
I have been watching much of the telly. The reboot of The Tomorrow People started the other night and I rather enjoyed it. Same basic concepts, much of the terminology and some of the names are the same, but it's a very different take on things. I laughed when they revealed the big bad's name. Very promising start and even just the first episode provided enough plot points to keep me watching for a while at least.
Agents Of SHIELD continues to be merely okay. A couple of misfires in the dialogue and just once, just once I would like the science guy, when asked by the muscle "In English, nerd." to answer "I'm speaking English, maybe you should go and read some books fuckface, or bugger off."
I'm enjoying Sleepy Hollow the most out of the new shows so far, it's scratching an urban fantasy itch that I don't think I realised I had. (Although, y'know...Durarara!!)
Interesting to see where NCIS is going with certain events having happened.
Have acquired the original Star Wars movies in fan made "Despecialised" editions that reverse all the bullshit changes Lucas has tainted the movies with over the years. As soon as I saw the opening text crawl with no "Episode IV" and no "A New Hope" I knew I'd come to the right place.
Also been very amused by the Glove & Boots YouTube channel which is funny and has puppets.
