Oct. 12th, 2013 02:21 pmOne of the great videogame mysteries of the eighties was...why are you always the only pilot left? It was always you versus the amassed hideous hordes of the alien enemy. It happened in so many videogames that I started to wonder how it happened.
1) You're not actually a pilot, you were the janitor and when the building got blown up, you were out the back having a smoke. The authorities got confused and plonked you in a spaceship by mistake.
2) You had a bad curry the night before and were stuck in the toilets when the briefing room got exploded. You spend the entirety of the game clenching because unfortunate things will happen if you don't.
3) You slept in.
4) You were engaging in rumpy pumpy with the admirals daughter behind the hangars when they went up.
