Oct. 19th, 2014 03:36 pmWell, managed three days back at work (which were hell, not due to the job, but due to me feeling so ill all the time) before having to call in sick again due to a combination of exhaustion and what the doctors are politely calling an upper respiratory infection, which led to me calling NHS24 and getting an out of hours appointment for tests because my chest felt so tight and heavy, there was so much stuff in my throat that I felt like things may block up at any moment and I was out of breath after doing every single thing.
Thankfully they don't think there's anything else wrong after a bunch of tests, including having to shave a couple of squares off my chest to do an ECG test, a few things slightly off but nothing alarming. Have to get appointment with GP tomorrow for more antibiotics as despite taking them all week, things haven't gotten any better and also to get some bloods taken just to make sure there's nothing else at work here.
I really didn't need this sort of illness six weeks into a new job, constantly paranoid that if I don't recover quick enough they might decide I'm not worth keeping on. Money will be tight next month too as I'll have had five days off (at least) and my council tax shoots up by 450% next month.
GOing to go and watch Doctor Who now, first time I've not seen an episode on day of transmission since part one of The Awakening back in January 1984.
