Friday five.
Apr. 10th, 2015 11:21 am1. Been to hospital twice in the last nine days for things to be taken, thaings to be scanned and tests to be done. Right now my eyes haven't deteriorated, my overall blood sugar control is good and my blood pressure's fine. On the other hand, the exhaustion and aches continue, my kidney's creatinine levels are still waaay too high and I've gained weight the last thrww months. They did an ultrasound of my kidney's yesterday so am waiting to see if anything bad shows up.
Getting to and from Ninewells (over thirty miles away) has been fine, as I get my bus fare back and usually I really enjoy the bus, but I end up ahching with twinges of pain in my sides from sitting on the bus for an hour-and-a-half, which is annoying.
2. Thunderbirds Are Go was really bloody good. The most imporatant thing is they had the opening countdown which after forty years still makes me want to do a victory lap of the room. I like the redesigns and call backs to original run episodes and my only complaint is why after the 5pm premiere, it's being shunted back to 8am. I'd have thought the 5pm slot (or the Buck Rogers/The A-Team slot as those of a certain age know it) would have been perfect.
3. Hands have been too achey to play many games this week, but did some of my usual DIablo III and Monster Hunter while listening to podcasts, happy with how I'm doing in both.
4. There are semeingly seagulls nesting on my roof and I have to phone someone to relocate them, luckily the council do this for free but I have to phone and ask them. I've not noticed anymore seagull activity then normal but then I live a hundred yards away from a harbour so they're always about.
5. Comics, Gillen and Larocca's Darth Vader continues to be fantastic and I'm loving S.H.I.E.L.D. whic takes the TV show's team and places them firmly within the Marvel comic universe. This just seems to be an excuse to let Mark Waid do a bunch of single issue stories with guest appearances form characters he likes and work with different artists each month. Best of all was issue three because Alan Davis (Captain Britain/Excalibur) was on art and he's one of half-a-dozen old school guys I love seeing return for a bit. Also reallty enjoying Shutter which is a wonderous mish-mash of weird stuff and the latest in a long line of family explorers.
