I was bouncing around YouTube, as I do, after watching a video with Bill Nye and suddenly wondered if there was any footage of the fun facrs and science programme I saw as a kid on there and lo and behold, there's a whole episode of How on there in three parts, from 1979. The show ran from 1966 to 1981 and only ended because Southern lost their telly franchise to someone else. It was brought back as How 2 in 1990, with the erstwhile Fred Dineage returning as a presenter and went on until 2006. Later, Johnny Ball and Patrick Moore wouild properly ignite my love of science, but in the early dyas it was this and Tomorrow's World that started it off, along with some daft show called Doctor Who.

That theme music still sounds awesome, especially the opening drums, like some lost Warp Records release, they replaced it with something with less racist overtones for the revival.
