So first my microphones arrived and either neither of them work or more likely the soundcard and/or drivers on the old desktop are broken. Spent whole morning messing about with no results, so decided I'd just wait until I get the replacement hard drive for my netbook.

Except there's a problem there now, not with the drive but with the fact the sticker with the Win7 activation key has worn off at the end and I can't read the last five digits properly. I think I know four of them, but that still leaves one digit, so I may not even be able to reinstall my operating system without resorting to dogy methods.

It's really knocked the wind out of my sails, I was really enthusiastic and optimistic after the weekend, now I'm just pissed off.

A day of lows and highs...

...until ten minutes ago today had not gone well. Netbook was taken apart but one tiny screw is stuck and that's the one that keeps the hard drive in place. I may have had something of a breakdown at that point.

But...I got the sound drivers working on the desktop and the microphones work and despite being very cheap, seem to be up to the job of podcasting. I should have money tomorrow so a mixer will be ordered and depending on things and schedules, hopefully first episode of something will show up before the end of the month.
